Training of Trainers for Women Empowerment

The grant supported a 3 year capacity building program undertaken by ICEP Institut zur Cooperation bei Entwicklungs-Projekten and contributed to the alleviation of general problems of lack of profitability of income generating activities undertaken by poor women in rural areas in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaraqua, Kenya and Uganda. Through this projetc: five Southern NGOs have integrated the methodology of multicators in their training programmes and have been institutionally strengthened; five Southern NGOs established sustainable structures for an outreach training programme and extended their capcacities; at least 440 young women have been trained to become multiplicators among rural women; at least 220 businesswomen have been trained to become mentors among the trained rural women.
