The project's sectoral objectives aim at improving the efficiency of transport to provide Madagascar's economy with the impetus needed to help reduce poverty in the country. Specifically, the project aims at rehabilitating 112 km of the national road RN34 between Miandrivazo and Malainbandy and the road RN35 between Mahabo and Morondava (49 km).
