Technical Conference on Climate as a Resource

The grant was extended to WMO to co-finance the “Climate as a Resource” technical conference which aimed to highlight the potential of our climate as a natural resource for sustainable development. The Conference demonstrated ways in which national meteorological and hydrological services can promote and support the exploitation of given climate conditions to ensure human wellbeing, improving efficiency of food production and fresh-water management. The outcomes of the Conference, held from November 1-2, 2006 in Beijing provided technical input to the 14th WMO’s Commission for Climatology.
