The project aimed at supporting the academic and cultural activities undertaken by the ESNCM geared towards encouraging creativity, innovation and the culture of diversity and steadfastness among Palestinian children, as well as safeguarding Palestinian cultural heritage and maintaining the peculiar identity of Jerusalem as an Arab City. Project Outputs: The Project exceeded initial targets (500 beneficiaries), and has enabled 781 children aged 5-18 years (More than 50% females) from all social and economic backgrounds in Jerusalem to access music education through the regular, outreach and choirs programmes. The grant enabled the expansion of the outreach programme to reach out to 248 children (57% of whom are females) in Shu’fat refugee camp, Al Ram, Silwan, The Old City, Sheikh Jarrah and Wadi Al Joz in Jerusalem as part of the outreach programme. With this support, ESNCM has also been able to establish 21 choirs in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Education and targeted Palestinian Schools in Jerusalem, Furthermore, talented children in the outreach programme have been financially supported through the scholarship component to join the regular music education programme at the ESNCM.
