This project aims at enhancing the quality of education in the western region of The Gambia, covering the capital, Banjul, and its suburb, the Kanifing Municipality, otherwise known as the Greater Banjul area. Works to be carried out include:

  • construction/rehabilitation and furnishing of 220 classrooms, each accommodating around 45 pupils
  • construction of three libraries, numerous laboratories and sanitation facilities
  • drilling of water wells
  • installation of nearly 10,000m of fencing
Upon completion, the project will enable around 9,900 additional children, many of them from deprived families, to attend school.
