Strengthening Community Based Organizations for Poverty Reduction in the Gaza Strip

This project aimed at building the capacities of community based organizations (CBOs) operating in the most marginalized areas in the Gaza Strip to enhance their ability to deliver quality services to their target beneficiaries. It entailed training the staff members working at six CBOs; developing their work procedures; upgrading the CBO's equipment and facilities; developing strategic plans; and, building a cooperation network. A total of 361 persons were trained, and 144 awareness raising workshops have been held. In addition, 4 youth initiatives to alleviate poverty were implemented. The six partner CBO's were also provided with equipment and tools that are relevant and necessary for their social mission.
