The project successfully provided direct assistance to 1,694 beneficiaries (of which over 80% were women). Along with providing Training government field staff in raising community awareness and assisting villagers with the formation of SGs and SGEs; a set of guidelines was developed by the project in Khmer and English. Field Staff also had the opportunity to learnn through participation in workshops and on-the-job trianing. SGs and SGEs received training in group enterprise formation, bookkeeping, community development, leadership skills, small business management and gender issues.
