The program aimed at assisting the Cameroonian Ministry of Public Health in setting up an eye care program in the South West Province in order to contribute to the health care development of the province through the elimination of avoidable blindness by the year 2020. Program activities covered setting a new fully equipped Eye Unit in the premises of Kumba district hospital.
