This initiative comprises some 1,400 sub-projects implemented by the Social Investment Fund, benefiting some 1.25 million people. Activities will include the construction of schools, roads and health care facilities, as well as the installation of water supply and sewerage systems. Particular attention will be placed on those areas most seriously affected by Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
