Organization of American States (OAS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Guatemala established three pilot school-based tele-centers in rural Guatemala. These centers served as a model for development of a national program to utilize modern information and communication technologies to serve farmers and rural community in poor, remote and rural areas of Guatemala.
