The primary objective of this project is to raise agricultural production and increase food supplies in the southeastern Salamat region. To this end, 6,500 hectares of irrigated land will be developed and water supplies improved. In addition, warehouses, plant nurseries, veterinary stations, schools, housing units and community centers will be either rehabilitated or constructed.
