The total project cost was US$1.8 million and the project is cofinanced by UNDP and the Government of Sudan. Solar equipment has been installed, as well as photovoltaic systems for lighting and medical refrigeration at dispensaries, lighting at community centers and mosques, solar evaporators for the production of salt, solar pumping for drinking water and irrigation.
