Quang Nam Province, home to around 900,000 people, is one of the most impoverished areas in Vietnam. The project aims to improve living standards in the province by boosting agricultural production, raising household incomes and enhancing access to markets, jobs and social services. Works will include, among others: construction of rural roads, bridges and primary schools; establishment of irrigation schemes and wells; expansion of the province's local power grid system; construction of dams, canals and pumping stations; relocation of over 10,000 households endangered by landslides; and capacity-building activities among local authorities.
