Provision of Improved Cook Stoves Paired with a Carbon Finance Scheme

The general objective of this program was to provide a clean cooking solution to the poorest households of Nepal through accelerated installation of affordable, effective and socially acceptable improved cook stoves, thereby reducing the incidence of indoor air pollution. The program targeted communities in seven far Western districts of Nepal. Overall 24,000 improved cookstoves were installed directly impacting 126,720 people and 100 high quality portable improved cookstoves were designed and disseminated. Moreover 4,234 persons have benefitted from the improved cookstoves community awareness campaigns on health and environmental benefits.
