The grant has been extended to the UNDP Water Governance Facility at SIWI (Stockholm International Water Institute) with the general objective of ensuring sustainable access to water by the population of one of the poorest zones in the country, the Torola River Basin. This will be achieved through the provision of technical training and management of water resources; strengthening institutional capacities such as water boards and local governments; small investments in water sources protection; and an awareness campaign.
