This project improved the socio-economic conditions of urban and rural women in six Arab countries with the objective to empower rural women by facilitating their access to information on their rights, in particular to benefit from certain basic services and economic opportunities. Narrative report ending December 31, 2011 was sent. The launching seminar of the project took place in Tunis in July 2011. Research activities, including preparation of manual on instituions that provide basic services for women, have been implemented. Two national seminars have been organized in Sudan and Mauritania to disseminate and validate the findings of the research. Yemen was excluded temparily due to the ongoing crises. Regional strategic planning meeting was held in Tunis in December 2011.
