The project's main components are: Construction of small storage dams and assistance in reconstruction and rehabilitation of diversion weirs and canal distribution system for a number of small irrigation sub-projects operated by Peoples Irrigation Association in the North. Institutional support to irrigation coopperatives to enhance water management skills and establishment of a pilot watershed component to promote soil and water conservation and controlled development.
