This loan supported a program which aimed at improving social and economic development throughout the country’s 14 parishes and raising living standards in both rural and urban communities. Specifically, roads, drainage and water systems, and parish council buildings were rehabilitated, and the project also encouraged citizen participation in community affairs and local decision-making.
