The project consists of the construction of a hydroelectric dam to meet the increasing demand for electricity and minimize the long-term cost of electricity supply in Benin and Togo, thereby lessening dependence on imports and providing possibiltities for the development of agriculture. Specificially, the project consists of a hyudroelectric development scheme at Nangbeto, power sector studies and technical assistance personnel and training programmes.
