The project is expected to benefit around 250,000 people living in 15 major potential growth centers in hill districts and 46 adjoining villages. Works will include:

  • construction of eight mini hydroelectric power stations, including associated transmission, distribution, service connections;
  • provision of amaintenance workshop and training facilities; and
  • consultancy services.
The project will lead to savings in imported fuel and will provide for the irrigation of 1,600 hectares.
