OFID’s participation in a syndicated facility supported the development of a hydroelectric power plant in Nepal. With its 82 megawatt capacity, the plant is the country’s largest private sector energy project and the first internationally financed independent power producer in the country. It will provide electricity to an estimated three million people and help to alleviate the current power shortages in the country.
