Malawi's Liwonde-Naminga road serves rich agricultural areas, but over the years it has become extremely worn. The project will therefore paving a 23 km section of the road and build three km of new road, repair an existing bridge, install road safety devices and culverts for flood protection. The project will benefit both urban and rural populations by facilitating the international and interregional exchange of goods, as well as providing employment opportunities both during and after its implementation.
