The 60 km Kicukiro-Nyamata- Nemba road is in poor condition and often becomes impassable during the rainy seasons. The project will therefore carry out the following works:

  • re-alignment and paving the road with an all-weather surface;
  • installation of culverts and drainage systems; and
  • construction of a 100 m-long bridge over the Nyaborongo River.
The newly-renovated road will afford the local communities swifter, more reliable transport, and facilitate the movement of produce to marketplaces and food-deficit regions, raising living standards for many.
