The project’s main goals are to reduce poverty and food insecurity and improve living conditions at a grass-roots level in the Maniema Province. Works to be carried out include

  • raising rural incomes by rehabilitating agricultural production infrastructure
  • improving producers' access to markets
  • enhancing rural households' access to basic social services through the rehabilitation of 607 km of rural feeder roads, which will also help open up agricultural production zones and facilitating access to marketplaces.
In all, around 300,000 people are expected to benefit from the project.
