The project aimed at improving the resistance to streak virus of early-maturing lowland tropical maize in East Africa. It will generated early-maturing maize varieties adopted to the area. The beneficiary region covered Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
