The grant has been extended as a gesture of empathy towards the vulnerable segments of the population suffering from the impact of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique. Emergency Intervention Main Outputs: I. Shelter Component: • A total of 139,689 people (67,051 male and 72,638 females) were reached with Shelter and settlement solutions. • 27,938 households (139,689 people) were assisted with emergency shelter assistance and awareness on safe shelter and good construction practices. Out of these, 1,600 emergency shelter kits were donated to ICRC to be distributed to armed conflict fleeing IDPs in the province of Cabo Delgado. • 284 families of IDPs affected by the armed conflict in the Central province of Manica, in Gondola district were assisted with emergency shelter kits and non-food items (NFIs) • 18,431 households were reached with shelter NFIs • 51,575 people were reached with IEC materials/ awareness • 8.015 households received at least 1 Build Back Safer (BBS) training (in emergencies) • 190 households were provided with durable shelter/housing assistance meeting agreed standards, with 500 more durable shelters (ongoing) II. Livelihoods Component: • 46,160 people (22,157 male and 24,003 females) were supported by livelihoods actions. • 15 loans and savings groups are created and being supported • 32 CVM volunteers are trained in livelihood skills • 7,799 households of farmers supported with assets, out of which 1,792 farmers were supported with Technical training • 148 households of fisherfolks were supported with fishing materials and technical support • 2,555 people are being supported to meet their basic needs through social protection system of which 300 will additionally be supported with vocational training
