This loan helped finance the Honduran Social Investment Fund III (HSIF III) to implement 225 sub-projects designed to benefit around 70,000 people. This scheme involved the construction or rehabilitation of health centers, schools, water and sewerage systems, irrigation schemes, access roads and markets, as well as basic community facilities in the small towns and villages throughout the country.
