The project aimed at the rehabilitation of existing roads in Benin, including: (a) rehabilitation of the Godomey-Bohicon-Abomey road (107 km); (b) resurfacing of about 195 km of bituminous roads; (c) resurfacing of about 459 km of laterite roads; (d) strengthening of the on-going routine maintenance programme; (e) technical assistance to the Directorate of Roads and Bridges in the Ministry of Equipment for further strengthening road maintenance planning and staff training; and (f) preinvestment study of the Ouidah-Allada road (40 km).
