This loan forms part of a US$12.8m financing package for the establishment of a factory to manufacture welding equipment and machinery. The plant will have the capacity to produce 16,000 tons of welding electrodes, 3,000 tons of welding wire and 1,800 units of welding machines annually, for both domestic consumption and export. It is envisaged that the enterprise will provide considerable stimulus to the expansion of industrial manufacturing and construction activity in Uzbekistan.
