This project is part of a wider fisheries development program involving, among other activities, the expansion and modernization of the fishing fleet. The project will modernize 600 vessels with provision of marine diesel engines, fishing gear and navigation equipment, and provide spare parts for the rehabilitation of 4,600 fishing vessels currently idle. The project will significantly increase fisheries production and therefore exports.
