The grant was allocated for the Establishment of the African Fertilizer Development Center in Zimbabwe and to meet part of the initial cost of the AFDC's construction and operating expenses. The amount of US$50,000 was utilized for operating costs, US$250,000 was utilized to the construction of the Center, which started in April 1993, and completed in January 1994.
