Establishing Educational Parks for Schools in the Gaza Strip

The grant has been extended to the Gulf Educational Organization to support a project for establishing ten educational parks for selected schools in the Gaza Strip to enable practical experimentation in basic farming for Gazan children. The number of direct beneficiaries was estimated at about 5,000 pupils in the target schools. The project also benefited the teachers and the broader community by providing this much needed and useful educational facility. Project Outputs: 1. 10 greenhouses were built in 10 schools in Gaza Strip; 2. basic irrigation networks installed; 3. Iron fences and gates installed; 4. Improving the landscape by providing murals and cement coloured benches; 5. Providing small libraries within the parks for research and education; 6. Organizing special training for teachers and students of scientific and environmental club; 7. Establishing an interactive project website; 8. Issuing a handbook on seasonal crops.
