The grant helped finance procurement of essential medical, training and laboratory equipment, supplies and consumables, as well as teaching materials, audio-visual equipment, books and medical resources for the university. Project implementation had started at the end 1998. The Arab Fund was our grant administrator and had contributed itself US$1.3 million to the project.
