Enhancing Food Security

This project focused on institutional integration by encouraging research and extension systems to work together with farmers on their fields. The objectives of the project were to increase agricultural production and productivity through the development and promotion of improved crop varieties, conservation cropping systems and agronomic practices, efficient use of scarce water resources, and an enabling policy environment that supports the uptake and impact of improved technologies and to enhance capacity of national research systems through training of young scientists in conventional and advanced areas of agricultural research.
