This project is part of larger plan to develop potable water supply systems for the Tangiers region, insure a steady flow of raw water to a treatment plant, and meet potable water demands for Tangiers, Asilah and surrounding areas until year 2051. Project components comprise:
- construction of a 300 milion m3- capacity earth dam;
- installation of network connections;
- clearing of areas to be flooded;
- provision of compensation to occupants of land where project is to be executed;
- installtion of hydromechanical equipment;
- environmental protection works; and
- studies/supervisory works.
