This grant has been extended in support of an Educational and Awareness Programme for Syrian Refugee Children in Jordan’, to be implemented by the Child of Play Foundation. The programme was coordinated with Madrasati (an existing OFID partner), and entailed educational, recreational and awareness activities with the children, through workshops on drawing, acting, photography and sports. The Programme targetted ‘Al-Arqam School’, a public school located in Amman, with over 1,000 local pupils in addition to 860 Syrian refugee children (46 per cent). The project benefitted about 1,860 pupils in the target school as well as the teachers who tookpart in this exercise through exposing them to innovative teaching methods and approaches. It is worth noting that a team from the Communication Department went to Amman to cover this activity. The OIC also joined the CD team and the Madrasati team on one day of the workshop (was in Amman for a private visit at the time).
