The project supports policy measures to bolster Government's sector program to improve the quality and efficiency of education and training in Madagascar at all levels.

  • strengthening of sector management through extensive training of all sector administrators;
  • establishment of a Project Coordination Unit;
  • provision of training programs for about 13,200 education advisers, headmasters, inspectors at 64 regional training centers;
  • provision of training for elementary school teachers;
  • rehabilitation of six regional primary teacher training colleges; and
  • establishmentment of two higher technological institutes.
