In 2002, OFID approved a $4 million loan to Mozambique to expand the Eduardo Mondlane Although the project is at an advanced stage of implementation, it is facing cost overruns largely owing to an escalation in the price of construction materials in the Southern Africa region. The additional loan will enable works to be carried out as planned. Upon completion, an estimated 40% increase in graduates is expected.
