The grant supported an agricultural development project in the Dominican Republic. The project improved living conditions for low-income farming communities in Central Cordillera and Sierra de Bahoruco, two poverty-stricken areas located in the mountainous region close to the Haitian border. The grant proceeds were used to provide agricultural tools for land preparation, as well as other equipment needed for the construction of irrigation systems, roads, paths and aqueducts.
