To construct and equip a 300-bed referral hospital that will serve over 1.4 million inhabitants living in Greater Dakar.

  • construction of a four-story, approx. 27,000 m2 hospital building;
  • procurement of equipment and furniture;
  • provision of training to medical, para-medical, technical and administrative staff;
  • provision of an initial stock of medicines and medical consumables;
  • covering of operating costs for the first two months of operation of the new hospital; and
  • consultancy services.
The project will provide easier access to quality healthcare to inhabitants living in Greater Dakar, and hundreds of people each day will spend less time traveling long distances to reach a health facility. As a major referral hospital, it will also receive patients who cannot be treated at health centers or in other hospitals; not only from Dakar itself, but also from the whole country.
