In September 2024, the OPEC Fund received an official financing request from the Government of Senegal to participate in the financing of the Senegal Food Sovereignty Strategy Support Project (PASS in French, No. 16415P), alongside IFAD and ICF. IFAD conducted the appraisal of the Project in April 2024 and prepared the ensuing PASS Project Design Report in June 2024, which was shared with the OPEC Fund. IFAD has approved its financing in September 2024 while the approval of ICF’s funding is expected in December 2024. It is proposed that the Project be submitted to the 39th Governing Board Approval by Motion (GBAM) session in November 2024. The proposed cost-sharing grant will cover the cost of loan administration services, including project supervision, to be provided by IFAD to the OPEC Fund under the aforementioned project.
