The purpose of this TA is to contribute to the Climate Change Investment Project Preparation Fund (FCC) of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). It was submitted to the OPEC Fund in 2024 in the context of discussions to strengthen collaboration among the two institutions that have resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 16 June 2025. FCC is an innovative initiative launched by CABEI in 2020 to support the preparation of projects on mitigation of and adaptation to climate change which is having profound impacts on Central America, affecting various aspects of life and the environment. Moreover, FCC focuses on supporting large-scale sustainable infrastructure projects in the following areas: future mobility, digital and smart cities, innovative green energy systems, and energy and waste infrastructure.
