This project will rehabilitate and expand about 160 irrigation systems in the central and eastern regions. The improved infrastructure will help reduce poverty and improve livelihoods for some 218,000 inhabitants. Other works will include construction of tertiary canals for efficient distribution of water in farming fields and rehabilitation and expansion of 23 office buildings and a training center. This will also include provision of furniture and lab equipment used in the irrigation sector.
