The project aims at community development and rehabilitation of medium scale infrastructure using labour intensive means where appropriate. The project comprises 65 sub-projects relating to water supply, waste management, health care, schools, roads, drainage, ets. The project (which commenced in April 97 under funding from IDA) is divided into three components: - Civil Works: including equipment necessary for enhancing the impact of the civil works - Project Management: a supplement for strengthening the role of the Project Management Unit - Institution Building: providing technical assistance for training local government units in project selection and development.
