This program loan assisted the government in its efforts to reactivate the economy by allowing the country to import urgently-needed items for agricultural and industrial sectors such as petroleum, raw materials, machinery, spare parts and chemical products. This poverty-alleviating initiative helped increase the incomes of small farmers and support small entrepreneurs.
