This loan will support the development, construction, operation and maintenance of a 340 MW, combined-cycle power generation plant, capable of operating on both liquid fuel and natural gas. The plant is located at Kpone near the capital Accra. The project will contribute to employment generation, industrial diversity and local infrastructure development. Once in operation the plant will help deliver a regular supply of power and meet present and future needs. It will also reduce Ghana’s need to import energy from Cote D’Ivoire.
