The project consists of the following major parts: A-Bissau Port: construction of new commercial berth, rehabilitation of existing berth for fishing, rehabilitation or replacement of existing navigation aids, provision of new maintenance base and workshop, construction of port offices and housing for officers and staff, provision of technical assistance and training; B-River Transport: Provision of navigation aids and construction of four river ports; C-Equipment: Provision of cargo handling equipment.
