Thalassemia Patient's Friends Society (TPFS) was established in 1996 by a group of volunteers, medical and health workers in cooperation with thalassemia patients and their families. Over the past several years, TPFS executed several programs focused on training and upgrading health professionals, upgrading health services, and establishing daycare units in government hospitals. The grant supported the improvement of the patient's healthcare standard.
