Assistance to Civil Society Organizations in Palestine (Phase II): El Wafa Medical Rehabilitation Hospital

Established in 1996 as a non-profit non-governmental organization located in Gaza City, El Wafa Medical Rehabilitation Hospital provides medical and rehabilitation treatment to Palestinian people suffering from physical and cognitive disabilities. The hospital is also managing a nursing home for elderly Palestinians (over 60 years of age) with neither family nor caregivers. OFID has extended a grant to support the proposed project "Fostering Medical Rehab Services offered for patients and physically challenged" targeting physically challenged people suffering from head injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple fractures, gun shot wounds, and more. With the help of OFID a neurosurgery operative microscope, high speed surgical drill; and a cervical set as well as implants and instruments cervical cages has been purchased.
