The main objective of this project is to respond to the needs for quality rehabilitation and psychosocial support for victims of the conflict in the region, and to support the institutions offering these services in both The West Bank and Gaza. The project directly benefited a number of rehabilitation practitioners in both areas, in addition to children with special needs. Under the two project components, the following activities have been implemented: I. Psychosocial aid victims of conflict from Gaza: included Coordination with 15 schools and two kindergartens; Capacity building and training for 22 teachers and counsellors; Supervision visits of ITF partner organization in Gaza; Monthly meetings with parents together with teachers in each school/ KG for discussion of problematic children; Developing a training Manual; Community psycho-educational sessions with parents for interactions and guidance of parents to enhance their parenting skills; Printing brochures for teachers, trainees and families; and Providing books for blind students in Gaza Strip. II. Training for Three rehabilitation specialists from Palestine at University Rehabilitation Institute Republic of Slovenia (URI Soca) between 03 and 28 October 2016 on advanced methods of physiotherapy treatment.
